This is why it’s so important for UEFA, FIFA etc. More specifically it’s the drinking that leads to excessive violence but there are also larger issues of misogyny, homophobia, and racism that encompass the violence committed by fans. During the 2010 World Cup, domestic violence increased 27.7% when England won a match and increased 33.9% when they lost. Domestic violence will increase post-match no matter the result.
